Your Niagara Soundtrack: A Spotify Playlist Inspired by Niagara

Here at Experience Niagara, we are always endlessly inspired by the sights, sounds, people, food and vibes. The region is constantly evolving and innovating and that’s what keeps it fresh!

Our creative team put together this playlist to bring more of the Niagara vibes to you.

We asked our creative director, Anita Wing Lee, about how she chose these tracks and how the team uses them to stay inspired.

What is it about these tracks that resonate with you?

These tracks reflect that expansive feeling that I get whenever I drive into the Niagara Peninsula and I see the mighty escarpment along the highway. These tracks make me feel like the air is shimmering. Some are also inspired by the earth. Niagara is shaped by its geography. The escarpment is what creates the mircoclimate, which makes vineyards and winemaking possible. Several of these tracks are more acoustic in nature, so you get that sense that its real people playing real instruments.

Some tracks make me feel peaceful and fill me with a sense of wonder. There are other tracks that are also lively and energetic since Niagara is also a place with so much creativity and energy.

What do you use these tracks for?

We invite our team to listen to them while their driving, walking or even working on other tasks. We also invite the teams at our partners to add to this list and to create their own Experience-Niagara-inspired playlists, and then we listen, compile and consolidate based on the project. While our partners have a similar feel, there are also differences that make each unique. Niagara Vintage Wine Tours is more upscale. The Good Earth Winery is a bit more acoustic and earthy. The South Landing Inn is by the water. The Kent Motel is boho and youthful. We are currently curating the soundtrack for The Woodbourne Inn, which is more romantic and luxury.

What is your hope in sharing this playlist?

I hope that these tracks will inspire people to take moments throughout their day to remember the feeling they had when they visited Niagara. And if you’ve never been to Niagara before, we hope that these tracks will bring some of the beauty, majesty and peacefulness of wine country into your life. Niagara is more than just a singular location. It’s a tapestry of towns, wineries, distilleries, greenhouses, small businesses, artisans, farms, and so much more. It’s an ethos. It’s a belief that life’s simple pleasures are to be cherished.

Music is something we can’t touch or taste, and yet it is so visceral. It reawakens our minds and refreshes our souls. That’s what we hope to help others discover, with everything we do at Experience Niagara.
